Advanced Course is an opportunity for ten students to work together as a team creating a team project that will make a difference in their community and the world while personally growing to another dimension. It is another new beginning!
It is an opportunity for a small group of students to increase their ability to empathize, widen their depth of feelings, work in close partnership with others, bond as a team, experience paradigm shifts regarding pieces of unfinished issues from childhood and feel the joy of making a difference in someone else’s life far beyond assisting. The Advanced Course students get to express their thinking, feeling and ideas authentically in a way that calls forth the alignment, cooperation, and partnership of other team mates.
There are three sessions over a period of 80 days taught by a male and female instructor on a five acre ranch in West Delray Beach. The students receive personal coaching from the team coach for 30-minutes every week and a 60-minute conference call every week to discuss their project along with personal items. There is a limited enrollment of 10 per course with no assistants only offered to TLC graduates.
The weekends begin at 8:30am and end at about 6:00pm. On Saturday evening, the team goes to dinner to discuss their project. Sunday begins and ends with the same times. Advanced Course students work as a team which focuses on their relationships first and their project second. Advanced Course provides a deeper experience of feelings, a bigger look at your circle of belief and what motivates your expectations, a ropes course and a greater opportunity for healing which ends with a fire walk….just for empowerment!
Empowerment – a team from an advanced course after a fire walk
My name is Maria and I was part of Advance Course 15. We call ourselves “Seven Sassy Sisters”. The relationships that have grown from our course experience has been amazing.
We grew together, we cried together, and we remain supportive of one another in our grief and joys. Before Advance we were simply acquaintances in the TLC community of graduates.
Now I have been able to address many personal issues and have become more responsible for my life due to
my friendships with these women. I feel so very grateful for our friendships and look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead for us Sassy’s to make a difference in our world.
My name is Cathy and I am a member of advance team 15 better known as the Sassy Seven.
I am an only child, meaning there’s been no sister or brother in my life to lean on, share my life’s ups and downs with in a non-judgmental way. Instead of blood relatives, I gained this wonderful sisterhood in being with six women who are a part of my life’s journey. We have created an amazing bound, in which it only takes a phone call or a simple gathering to bring joy. Most times, we simply exchange words of encouragement . I feel comfort in knowing each “sassy sister” knows me in ways most others don’t. In an advance group, I was able to share all aspects of myself, my past , present and future in a safe, loving , unconditional way.
Currently my future consisted of facing my fears concerning education and letting go of many notions and ideas that it was too late. With all the love and support coming from my team members , I no longer feel alone in the new adventure. I am living out one of my life’s buried goals of returning to school to finish my bachelor’s degree in Accounting. I am once again excited about living my life in a way that I allow others in rather than living in own little “bubble”. Having my sisters, helps me to stay in action of living rather than dying slowly on the sideline of life.
